Jagitial: With Ganesh Navratri festivities approaching, several roads in Jagitial town have been dug up for patchwork repairs, leaving commuters struggling to navigate the damaged stretches.

Contractors reportedly stopped the repair works after rains, leaving the roads in a precarious condition. Several important routes used by residents and motorists every day have been left partially dug up, resulting in potholes and muddy stretches.

The situation has become particularly risky for two-wheeler riders as rainwater has accumulated in the excavated portions, making it difficult to judge the depth of the potholes. Locals alleged that no warning signs, barricades or indicator boards had been placed at several locations, increasing the risk of accidents, particularly during night hours.

With the Ganesh festivities expected to bring heavy movement of devotees and vehicles across the town, residents expressed concern over the safety of commuters and urged the authorities to complete the repair works on a war footing.

Locals brought the issue to the notice of the Municipal Commissioner, who directed the concerned officials to take immediate steps to address the problem. Following the instructions, municipal officials visited the dug-up road stretches and inspected the situation.

Residents urged the authorities to ensure that the pending patchwork is completed at the earliest and that proper barricades and warning signs are installed until the works are completed, particularly in view of the upcoming Ganesh festivities.
