Gadwal Cong leaders demand transparency
Gadwal: The District Congress Committee (DCC) organised a large-scale protest in Gadwal on Monday, demanding transparency in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and raising objections to what the party alleged were irregularities in the process. The protest was led by DCC president Malicheti Rajeev Reddy, with a large number of Congress leaders and workers participating.
The protesters took out a rally from YSR Circle and raised slogans against the BJP-led Central government and the Election Commission. They also burnt an effigy depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of the protest. They also demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Later, the Congress leaders and workers reached the District Collectorate and submitted a memorandum to Additional Collector Narsing Rao.
