The alert officials of the Buddavanam project near Nagarjunasagar have removed carvings of the Chief Minister and other leaders from the Mahastupa on war footing.

Nagarjunasagar: After the huge hullabulla over carvings of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and other political leaders on Yadadri temple pillars, the officials concerned with the construction of Mahastupa in Buddhavanam located in Nagarjunasagar have quietly removed the Chief Minister's pictures carved onto the stupa before another controversy rocked the State government.

After the huge protests, the alert officials of Buddhavanam removed the carving of the Chief Minister and other political leaders from the Mahastupa on war footing some five days ago. Based on direction of officials concerned, the sculptors engraved the picture the Chief Minister during his participation in Buddha Jayanthi celebrations held in May 2015 on the Mahastupa.
