Hyderabad: In a first of its kind Executive Post Graduate Diploma (EPGD) programme in Telangana, the Bala Vikas International Centre (BVIC) and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) have partnered together to offer two Executive Post Graduate Diploma (EPGD) programmes in Innovative Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Social Entrepreneurship.

Speaking about the courses, Shoury Reddy, the Executive Director of Bala Vikas, informed, "There is a huge gap between demand and supply for development professionals, which is recognised by TISS and Bala Vikas and thus we have come up with a unique course which will make the students qualified as management level." He further added, "Graduates from any discipline with over three years of work experience looking to enhance their career prospects in these fields are set to benefit greatly by this course."

Each batch will have 30 to 35 students who will attend weekend academic programs and will be taught over a period of 18 months at the newly inaugurated Bala Vikas International Centre (BVIC) near ORR at Keesara.

Costing up to Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh per course, the programmes target professionals or individuals who are willing to enhance their managing abilities by exploring the field of social entrepreneurship or those who want to get a head-start in pursuing entrepreneurship as a primary career option.

Under the Innovative CSR course, the students will be taught to have a unique approach towards commencing things and not taking the traditional way. Similarly, under Social Entrepreneurship course the BVIC will incubate social entrepreneurs and enterprises whose the primary objective is to serve the society by addressing an issue or solving a problem affecting sections of society.

Further, the BVIC will help the incubators in developing overall capacities of the enterprises and entrepreneurs by imparting training and knowledge required to run a successful social startup.

Interested applicants can apply online on the Bala Vikas website the applicants will be selected based on their qualification, age and over one to three years of work experience in social work field. The last date for online application is March 15 and the courses will commence on April 1.
