Trippko works with over 500 schools; Arranges trips for LKG to college students

After conducting over 3 years of extensive research with academicians, students and parents, Manoj and his team have been instrumental in connecting students to real world

Hyderabad: Field trips are the best way for students to come out of the confines of their four-walled classrooms to get a glimpse of real-life and acquire knowledge in the open. However, many schools now struggle to organise effective field trips due to several logistical, financial and other reasons.

Trippko, a Hyderabad-based start-up, saw a good business opportunity in their problem, which also brings children closer to nature. It offers exciting field trips. Its team visits the sites in advance to check on safety and security and all arrangements. The school only needs to arrange transport. Further, the representatives of Trippko, who are trained freelancers with experience in the area, stay with the children at the location and engage in various activities and act as guides to them around the trip. The trips are essentially part of applied education and are in sync with what the children learn in classrooms.

Speaking about his start-up, Manoj Reddy, CEO of Tripkko, said, "Field trips are an excellent stressbuster for kids who may at times feel the pressure of competitive education it helps them connect to the real world and see the application of their subjects. What students learn in class they can experience the same during field trips. Practical learning is as important as theoretical learning – the more they watch, touch and experience things on the visit the longer the information stays in their minds.

"We aren't teaching anything new, we make learning fun by connecting them to real-world," he adds further.

Trippko had cultivated positive learning in over 2,00,000 students with over 2,500 field trips. "A student who is inspired to learn through his experience will be performing better every day as he is more eager and curious to gather more knowledge and experience," concludes Manoj.

Why the field trips

As in urban places a lot of concrete jungles, there is no place to experience the nature. Most of the children do not know even simple facts such as where and how the rice is grown or milk is procured.

As students are getting addicted to indoor games, mobile phones and video games, field trip is the best alternative to ignite their yearning for knowledge by establishing real-world connections. Field trips stimulate the participants' curiosity, their sense of empathy for creatures, responsibility and unity with nature.
