Karimnagar: Choppadandi police station among the best police stations in country

Karimnagar: Day-by-day, the name of Karimnagar district is becoming familiar across the nation in various sectors.

In political field by registering massive and unexpected win in Lok Sabha elections by the BJP party candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar who defeated senior TRS leader and sitting MP B Vinod Kumar or in Swachh Bharat mission winning prizes several times. And now securing 8th rank at the national level by Choppadandi police station in the model police station category.

Out of top ten best police stations across the country that were ranked recently by Ministry of Home Affairs, Choppadandi police station of Karimnagar district secured 8th position and grabbed the attention of the nation.

Established in 1989

After being separated from Karimnagar rural police, the Choppadandi police station was established in 1989 with new building and the houses for the staff members. About 26 police personnel are discharging their duties in Choppadandi police station.

Survey Team's inspection:

In the first phase, a survey was conducted across the nation and about 70 police stations were selected and in the second phase out of 70 police stations, Choppadandi stood at third position and has been selected to compete in the race of Model Police Stations.

Later, a team from New Delhi visited the Choppadandi police station and examined the activities there and submitted the report to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

How it secured 8th rank:

The Ministry of Home Affair considering the points such as CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Networking System) uploading; solving the cases that were registered against women; ST and SC cases, property loss cases, enrolling of PD Act cases, proactive steps taken; programmes conducted as part of community policing; prevention of anti-social activities; maintenance of the police station building neat and tidy, maintenance of the record and files properly etc. The surveyors also considered the people-friendly and disabled friendly, child-friendly and eco-friendly attitude of the cops also arrangement of drinking water facility, toilet, lighting, greenery, counseling rooms and parking place for the people visiting the police station and others secured 8th position to the Choppadandi police station out of top ten police stations across the nation.

The Choppadandi police station is considered as the model police station in the State. The people who visit police station to lodge their complaints will feel it as a corporate office with full of greenery, playing area for children, harvesting pits and neat office with a reception centre.

Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy:

Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy said that several activities like improved quality in lockups, toilets, waiting hall, CCTV cameras, command control room and others helped the Choppadandi police station to secure 8th rank at the national level and top position in the State.

With the support extended by the all sections of people, we are able to grab the eight rank at the national level and considered as model police station in the State, he added.

Speciality of Karimnagar Police Commissionerate :

The Karimnagar Police Commissionerate was formed in 2016 as 11 commissionerate in the State with V B Kamalasan Reddy taking charge as first Police Commissioner. From then onwards, the commissionerate has achieved many mile stones year by year under the leadership of Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy.

The survey which was conducted by Ministry of Home Affairs in 2018 regarding the safety and security that was provided to the people in about 111 cities across the nation, the Karimnagar police Commissionerate stood at 4th rank at the national level. And this year by motivating the maximum number of people about 1.08 lakh to download Hawkeye app, the Commissionerate stood 3rd in position after Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates and it stood 2nd in position after Hyderabad commissionerate by invoking PD Act against 86 criminals.
