Kothagudem: District Collector Ankit has called for strengthening medical infrastructure at the Government General Hospital in Kothagudem to ensure better healthcare services for people. The Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Hyderabad, provided modern medical and hospital sanitation equipment worth Rs 67.41 lakh to the hospital under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The equipment was handed over to hospital authorities by ECIL officials at a programme held on Thursday in the presence of the Collector.

The equipment includes three-function remotely operated Fowler cots for ICU services, an ophthalmic operating microscope, an ophthalmic electric operation table with foot adjustment facility, an orthopaedic drill unit with accessories and a vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) machine.

Equipment aimed at improving hospital sanitation, including a scrubbing machine, compact walk-behind sweeper and high-pressure washer, was also provided.

Speaking on the occasion, Collector Ankit asked doctors and nursing staff to work in coordination to ensure that patients received timely treatment and that there was no delay in providing emergency medical care.
