Nagarkurnool collector receives national award
Jayaprasad Nagarkurnool: District collector Hemanta Keshav Patil has earned national recognition for the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, a Central government initiative aimed at improving agricultural productivity, increasing farmers’ incomes and strengthening allied agricultural sectors.
Patil received the award from Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at a celebration in New Delhi on Monday. The event marked the completion of one year of implementation of the scheme.
A four-member delegation from Nagarkurnool district attended the national-level event. The delegation included Collector Hemanta Keshav Patil, District Agriculture Officer Yashwanth Rao, Krishi Vigyan Kendra agricultural scientist O. Shaila and progressive farmer Rajender Reddy.
The PMDDKY focuses on improving crop productivity, ensuring the efficient utilisation of irrigation resources, promoting modern agricultural practices and providing farmers with access to advanced technology. The initiative also aims to address challenges in the agricultural sector and create better farming opportunities through coordinated efforts by government departments, agricultural scientists and farmers.
