Nagarkurnool: Celebrating the International Day for Older Persons in Nagarkurnool district on Tuesday, Joint Collector Srinivas Reddy said that with changing living conditions and busy lifestyles, many people were ignoring to take care of their parents and admitting them into the old age homes.

He said that children of old age people must take care of their elderly with care and compassion. They should not opt for sending them to old age homes as this trend is going to spoil the family value systems. The elders and old people are our past wisdom and must be given respect and they must be dealt with great honour and compassion.

"The old age people have vast experience, that they can share their experiences and their past life with our children which will enable to transcend the past values to the present generations through them," said the Joint Collector while felicitating the old age people at CNR meeting hall in Nagarkurnool on Tuesday.

The official expressed his concern that many people were admitting their parents into the old age homes which he termed was very sad. The children must take care of their parents by supporting them financially during their old age and must take care of their health.
