Nalgonda octogenarian puts up poll fight in Jharkhand's Godda
K Rangaiah has filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate to fight the Parliament polls from Godda constituency which is said to be one of the backward constituencies in the country
Nalgonda: The nature of doing service to people has been on the declining curve among the political leaders due to commercialisation of politics.
However, setting an example for others about the true service to people, a Nalgonda man, K Rangaiah (85), is contesting from Godda Parliament constituency to protect the values of democracy, to create awareness on importance of voting among the people and to attract the attention of youth who are keeping away themselves from politics.
Even though he filed his nomination from Nalgonda Parliament constituency as an independent candidate, he was rejected on technical reasons. Showing his interest and commitment, he has chosen the most backward Parliament constituency Godda of Jharkhand State and filed his nomination with the respective returning officer of the constituency on April 22 as an independent candidate.
Speaking to The Hans India, he informed that Godda constituency was very backward constituency but people of the region were very generous and extending their help to him. He expressed his concern over the poor infrastructure and basic facilities in Godda constituency.
He advised the leaders of national and regional parties to pay attention to poor and backward constituencies like Godda. He assured that he would provide all basic facilities in the Godda Constituency if he was elected to power.
