Hyderabad: The total tally of Congress MLAs switching loyalties to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is now nine as Congress MLA from Kollapur Assembly Constituency B Harshvardhan Reddy met working president K T Rama Rao and expressed his willingness to join the TRS.Harshvardhan Reddy met TRS working president K T Rama Rao at his camp office on Wednesday.

During the Assembly elections last year, Harshvardhan had defeated TRS candidate and Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. Harshvardhan said that he had decided to join the TRS for the development of his constituency. He said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was ruling the State as per the aspiration of people of Telangana.

He said that there were many developmental works in Mahbubnagar, which were never taken up in the history and because of this the migration has stopped and now reverse migration has started, he said. Harshvardhan Reddy said that if necessary, he would resign as MLA and re-contest on TRS ticket.

Earlier, Congress MLAs R Kanta Rao, Atram Sakku, B Haripriya Naik, Ch Lingaiah, K Upender Reddy and P Sabita Indra Reddy, D Sudheer Reddy, Vanama Venkateshwar Rao have also decided to join TRS. Addressing a meeting at Telangana Bhavan, the TRS working president took a jibe at the Congress party candidates for the Lok Sabha elections stating that leaders who did not win in Assembly are contesting for Lok Sabha.

"When we see the list of the Congress party, the candidates are Vamshichand Reddy, Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy... there are nine candidates who have lost in the Assembly elections. How can an invalid rupee in the Assembly become valid in Lok Sabha," Rama Rao said.Rama Rao said that the Congress party was becoming empty and following the path of K Chandrashekar Rao in the State and they are angry for that.

"They are accusing that MLAs are purchased. If the MLAs are purchased, why leaders like Anil Jadhav, Aarepally Mohan and others who are not MLAs are joining? During the Assembly elections in December, the Congress party took away our MP from Chevella and four other MLCs and why they were not angry then? One thing is for sure, the Congress leaders are not joining only TRS but running in all directions," Rama Rao said.
