The delegation comprising CLP leader B Vikramarka, Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao, CPM State Secretary T Veerabhadram, TDP leader R Chandrasekhar Reddy, BJP leader Mohan Reddy and Telangana Jana Samithi leader M Kodandaram met the Governor and explained the plight of the people after RTC workers have gone on strike from October 5. The sufferings of the RTC workers was also brought to the notice of the Governor in the meeting.

The leaders said that RTC is incurring losses due to rising diesel prices and subsidised bus passes to students, employees and various sections of people.

The government has to support the corporation to make transport cheaper for the ordinary people. The delegation said without government financial support , public transport will collapse.

The opposition leaders also informed Tamilisai that 4 RTC workers have committed suicide and another 12 workers died due to stress and the bereaved families are living in agony.

The High Court clearly held the government responsible and directed to take a call and resolve the crisis. It was unfortunate that the State government turned a deaf ear to the workers demands.

Thee leaders said that if the Governor, as constitutional head of the State, did not come forward and address the issue, the problems being faced by people and striking RTC workers will intensify and lead to a constitutional crisis.
