Huzurabad: The representatives of various people's organisations of Huzurabad constituency wrote an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao requesting him to form a new district in the name of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao with Huzurabad as headquarters.

They held a meeting on Wednesday in Huzurabad town under the leadership of A Sammaiah, who participated in 1960 Telangana movement. They welcomed the TRS government 's decision to celebrate the birth centenary of PV Narasimha Rao on a grand note across the State. Appreciating KCR's act of forming 33 districts from the earlier 10 districts for making the ruling easy, they said people from all sections of Huzurabad, during new districts' formation, requested the State government to make Huzurabad also as a new district and to put PV Narasimha Rao's name to it.

The representatives of peoples' organisations also gave representations to the then Minister Eatala Rajendar, Rajya Sabha Member Captain Laxmikantha Rao and the then MP Boinapalli Vinod Kumar on several occasions. Irrespective of political parties, all the leaders appealed the CM to make Huzurabad as a new district, they recollected.

The people of various sections including members of various organisations hold deeksha for months together at Ambedkar Circle in Huzurabad town and organised rasta rokos and staged dharnas also. As many as 2,000 people from both Huzurabad and Husnabad mandals went to Hyderabad and met K Keshava Rao and submitted a memorandum in this regard.

Though disappointed when Huzurabad was not made a district, the people of this area still desire to have a new district in the name of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao and requesting the CM to announce Huzurabad district in PV's name.

DTF State council members P Eshwar Reddy and Velpula Rathnam, Mala Mahanadu State secretary Paka Satish, RUPP-T president B Bikshapathi and L Kumara Swamy, 'Save the trees' district president M Anil and SC, ST Association secretary Velpula Prabhakar are present along with others.
