Vikarabad: The spirit of encouraging education in government schools is picking up. Several people are following District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam, who joined her daughter in a minority residential school. A village sarpanch joined his two children in the local government school and also motivated others to do the same.

Apart from inspiration and motivation, there was a pathetic story of the school. It was a government school in Pellimadugu Village. Its strength reached zero as villagers preferred private schools. The school was about to close. Moved by the situation, the sarpanch of the village Bitchi Reddy decided to join his two children in the school. He motivated his villagers to join their children in the same school.

Villagers responded positively and 18 children now admitted in the government school. The sarpanch spent own money and arranged a new gate and steps. He distributed plates, glasses and books. The proactive sarpanch arranged an auto rickshaw for transporting garbage in the village, apart from arranging some dustbins.
