Hyderabad: Four-days training for the SHE teams across the state on 'Uniform service delivery-She teams' was conducted by Women Safety Wing of Telangana State Police, at Womens Safety Wing, Lakdi-ka-pul in Hyderabad.

The training programme was inaugurated by Additional Director General (Law & Order) Dr. Jitender. He addressed the trainees, who came from three Commissionerates of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda. During the address, he has mentioned that after the formation of Telangana, the govt. has given top priority to the policing in the state. Main objective was that the people of Telangana should feel safe and secure, especially women. The effort of establishing SHE teams and gaining success was not overnight. The purpose of organizing this training is to strengthen the necessary skills and knowledge to handle the job in a qualitative manner.

Inspector General (Law & Order and Women Safety) Swati Lakra has addressed the session and explained on the focus and objectives of establishing SHE teams. The programme is very successful and presently more than 6 other states have replicated the initiatives of women safety. The responsibility of state police has increased with this.

In this training programme, classes on language and behaviour in receiving the petitioner, scientific and professional approach in investigation, standard operating procedures followed, do's and don'ts submission of evidence, legal aspects related to crime against women, records maintenance, gender sensitization etc classes were conducted. College students also shared their view about police and their expectations from police especially she teams. Dr Sinatha chary, renowned psychologist and counsellor dealt the topic of gender sensitization.

CID SP Sumathi has given a brief on initiatives taken by Women safety wing.

Around 60 participants participated in the training and they were given course completion certificates at the end of the session by the IG, L&O, I/c WSW and SP, WSW.
