Suryapet: Red gram farmers protest against delay in purchase of produce

Tirumalagiri (Suryapet): Demanding immediate purchase of their farm produce, farmers of red gram staged a protest on Suryapet- Janagoan main road in Tirumalagiri in the district on Tuesday.

Farmers alleged that even though MLA of Thungaturthi Gadari Kishore Kumar inaugurated the red gram procurement centre on the premises of agriculture market in Tirumalagiri in a big way four days ago, the respective IKP officials have been creating troubles and not purchasing the red gram from farmers in the name of moisture and sub-standard quality, whereas the same officials were purchasing the red gram from traders without any objection.

Farmers demanded district officials to intervene in the matter and urged them to render justice by purchasing their red gram immediately.
