Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has declared the State government will adopt short and long term action plans to strengthen agriculture sector and help the farmers to become rich.

The Chief Minister held a high-level meeting on farming sector attended by officials, agriculture experts and scientists. He asserted the farming sector would not be a profitable profession without the promotion of food processing industry.

Farmers will get profits only when their agriculture produce fetch remunerative prices.

KCR invited suggestions from the seed companies, food processing and allied industry to consolidate the farming sector.

He also pitched for discouraging the use of fertilisers and pesticides to rescue farmers from the increasing input cost.

He explained the officials about necessity of creation of crop colonies and establishment of Rythu Vedikas to strengthen the farming sector.
