Tandur: Women performed 'Varalakshmi Vratham' on the auspicious first Friday of Sharavan month with pomp and fervour. Women in Tandur, Basheerabad, Yalal, Peddemul decorated the portrait of goddess Lakshmi and offered prayers with the belief that the goddess would bestow wealth on their families.
The day brought festive look to the surroundings. Businessman Shankar Yadav along with his wife celebrated the prayer on a grand note and offered food to devotees.
