Warangal : At a time when higher education is set to embrace revolutionary changes, the universities have a major role to play, Prof. Sugam Anand, the head of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team, said. Speaking at the NAAC Peer Team Exit Meeting at the Senate Hall of the Kakatiya University (KU) here on Saturday, Prof. Sugam said that universities need to withstand tough competition from the private educational institutions. “Strengthening of the varsities is the only way to face the onslaught of the private players,” Prof. Sugam said. He submitted a report to the Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Thatikonda Ramesh during the exit meeting. Prof Sugam also had a word of praise for the alumni of the varsity. It may be mentioned here that the seven-member NAAC Peer Team concluded its visit to the KU on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Chief Whip D Vinay Bhaskar made a courtesy call on the NAAC Peer Team. He felicitated the team members on the occasion. During a chat with the team, Vinay explained the historical importance of the erstwhile Warangal district. “Kakatiya University has produced many great personalities who made their name in different fields.
