Wrestling is an Indian ancient game, which is one of the most popular games in the world, stated ZP floor leader Peddi Swapna, who participated as a chief guest at district-level school games wrestling competition at Narakkapet ZPHS in Nallabelly mandal on Tuesday.

Warangal: Wrestling is an Indian ancient game, which is one of the most popular games in the world, stated ZP floor leader Peddi Swapna, who participated as a chief guest at district-level school games wrestling competition at Narakkapet ZPHS in Nallabelly mandal on Tuesday.

She said that nowadays youth are more in learning wrestling to maintain six-pack body and to have physical fitness and mental ability. Sports and games is a tool of social reconstruction and talented players can have economic growth in future.

Warangal District Wrestling Association vice-president Shanavena Rajkumar said that the games got a very good response from grassroots level for the first time in the district.

About 300 children from all over the district have participated in the sports event. Nallabelly MPP Sunitha Praveen, Warangal District Wrestling Association general secretary Yadagiri Sudhakar, treasurer Raju, Headmaster Srinivas, PETs Premalatha, G Ravinder, Bikshapathi, Olympic Association secretary Dr Srinivas, Congress division youth president Vainala Karthik, Sahadev and others attended the event.
