Stage set up for the Chief Minister’s address
Rajanna Sircilla: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to visit Sircilla on Wednesday, marking his first visit to the town since assuming office. Weavers’ welfare, textile marketing, education and infrastructure are expected to dominate his visit.
He is expected to make a series of announcements focusing on weavers’ welfare, textile marketing, education and infrastructure development.
The official machinery and Congress leaders are making elaborate arrangements for the visit. A massive public meeting will be held at Ragudu bypass, which is expected to witness a gathering of around one lakh people.
Ministers, MLAs and party leaders from the erstwhile Karimnagar district are overseeing the arrangements.
Nethanna Bazaar’ likely to get push
The government is considering a plan to provide better marketing facilities for products made by Sircilla weavers. The Chief Minister is likely to make an announcement on the proposed ‘Nethanna Bazaar’, a dedicated marketplace for textiles produced on Sircilla powerlooms. Proposals related to infrastructure and financial assistance for the bazaar have reportedly been submitted to the Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles. The initiative is expected to improve market access for weavers’ products and provide better livelihood opportunities.
Rs 345.78 crore development works on agenda
During the visit, the Chief Minister will lay foundation stones and inaugurate development works worth Rs 345.78 crore in the district.
He will lay the foundation stone for the Young India Integrated Residential School in Vemulawada, proposed at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore. The educational complex is planned to accommodate around 2,600 students from Classes 5 to 12, with 64 classrooms, dormitories, dining facilities and other infrastructure.
Telangana Public Schools in Sircilla and Konaraopet will also be launched as part of the education initiatives.
Rs 99.40 crore for Vemulawada temple development
The Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone for 26 development works at Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada, being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 99.40 crore.
The works include development of mandapams, gopurams, prakarams, water supply systems, drainage facilities, CC roads and shopping complexes.
Foundation stones for government buildings
The Chief Minister will inaugurate the Indira Mahila Shakti Bhavan constructed under the Sircilla municipal limits.
He will also lay foundation stones for six tahsildar offices in Sircilla, Vemulawada, Thangallapally, Veernapally, Vemulawada Rural and Rudrangi mandals, besides a sub-registrar office in Vemulawada.
The government has also proposed warehouses with a storage capacity of 10,000 metric tonnes in Rudrangi, a women’s police station in Vemulawada, and traffic police stations in Sircilla and Vemulawada.
The Chief Minister’s visit is expected to highlight the government’s focus on weavers, students, women and rural infrastructure development in Rajanna Sircilla district.
