Welfare of the poor is the government’s priority: Government Whip Ramchandra Naik Telangana Praja Palana Day observed in Mahabubabad

MAHABUBABAD: Telangana Praja Palana Day was celebrated on a grand scale at the Mahabubabad district Collectorate on Thursday. Government Whip and Dornakal MLA Dr Jatoth Ramchandra Naik hoisted the national flag along with District Collector Sneha Shabarish and Superintendent of Police Dr Shabarish.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramchandra Naik said the people’s government was moving forward by implementing the promises made to the people. Under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, implementation of the Abhaya Hastham guarantees began within 48 hours of the government assuming office, he said.

Land issues of farmers resolved

The Government Whip explained the measures taken by the government to resolve land record issues in Narayanapuram village. He said the issuance of pattadar passbooks had been stopped earlier as some survey numbers were recorded as “forest” in the land records.

Following government orders, the records were corrected and a comprehensive re-survey was conducted, he said. After the re-survey, pattadar passbooks were distributed to 780 farmers covering 1,468.15 acres in Narayanapuram village. Approval was also given for re-survey in 70 villages in the district, while the survey had commenced in 11 villages, he added.

Encouragement for industries and employment

During 2026–27, permissions were granted to 25 industries through TG-iPASS with investments totalling Rs 42 crore, creating employment opportunities for 236 people, Ramchandra Naik said.

Under the T-PRIDE scheme, investment subsidies worth Rs 4 crore were sanctioned to 79 units belonging to SC and ST entrepreneurs, he added.

Priority to education

As many as 94,973 students are studying in 1,044 schools across the district, the Government Whip said. Government high schools in Nellikudur and Narsimhulapet were selected for conversion into Telangana Public Schools, and infrastructure facilities were being provided, he said.

Works on Young India Integrated Residential Schools had commenced at Boddugonda in Gudur mandal and Ayyagaripalli in Kuravi mandal, he added.

Progress in Indiramma housing

A total of 10,651 Indiramma houses were sanctioned for the district, including 1,100 houses for tribals in agency areas. Under the 99-day action plan, the district achieved 100 per cent completion of the target of 3,685 houses and secured fourth place in the State, Ramchandra Naik said.

So far, Rs 234 crore had been credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries, he added.

Mahalakshmi scheme benefits women

Through the Mahalakshmi scheme, 4.72 crore women travelled in buses operated by the Mahabubabad and Thorrur depots between December 2023 and August 2026, saving Rs 244.73 crore, he said.

Free power benefits thousands

Under the Gruha Jyothi scheme, 1,16,464 households consuming up to 200 units of electricity received a subsidy benefit of Rs 88.70 crore. In the agriculture sector, 97,850 farmers benefited from free power, with the total benefit amounting to Rs 1,945.93 crore, the Government Whip said.

Rythu Bharosa and Rythu Bima

For the 2026–27 kharif season, Rs 268 crore was deposited into the accounts of 2,14,625 farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. Under Rythu Bima, Rs 38 crore was deposited into the accounts of nominees of 770 deceased farmers, he said.

As many as 2,125 farmers were also provided training in natural farming, Ramchandra Naik added.

Aarogyasri coverage enhanced

The treatment limit under Rajiv Aarogyasri was increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, and 163 new treatments were added to the scheme, he said. In the district, 11,097 people received treatment under the scheme at a cost of Rs 33.74 crore.

New ration cards issued

The Civil Supplies Department issued 41,424 new Food Security Cards and 50,935 member addition cards in the district. Rice was being distributed through 558 fair price shops to 2.62 lakh Food Security Card beneficiaries and 16,793 Antyodaya cardholders, he said.

Ramchandra Naik said the government was making continuous efforts for the comprehensive development of the district. He expressed his gratitude to public representatives, officials, people and journalists for extending their cooperation.
