Andhra Pradesh unveils AI tourism service NiVu AI for tourist
Andhra Pradesh has launched an AI service at tourist sites offering multilingual information to over 130 languages, the state's Tourism Minister, Kandula Durgesh said.
Speaking at the Tourism Innovation Summit 2026 in Seville, Spain on 7 October, Durgesh said it had partnered with travel tech company Explurger to launch its NiVU AI platform. Tourists will be able to scan an "Ask AI" QR code to learn about a site's past and cultural significance without having to download an application or pay a fee.
The service will be provided for more than 100 prominent tourist and religious sites, with 30 destinations piloting the offering. According the minister, it has already trialled at the Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Mangalagiri.
Durgesh said that the platform could also recommend nearby attractions and help the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority analyse visitor tastes using the real-time data. He described it as a part of a bigger effort to harness technology to enhance tourism and create "smart destinations".
The minister highlighted the state's attractions which range from Tirumala's and Amaravati's Buddhist culture to Gandikota, Maredumilli's forests, Araku Valley and the Visakhapatnam coast. He invited tourism businesses and investors to collaborate with Andhra Pradesh on digital services and other tourism innovations.
