Call to preserve rich Telugu culture for posterity: Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose
Deputy Chief Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose said that the Telugu people has rich culture and traditions which should be protected for future generations.
Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose said that the Telugu people has rich culture and traditions which should be protected for future generations.
Participating in the State Formation Day celebrations at B R Ambedkar Bhavan here on Friday, he said that eminent freedom fighters, reformers and literary poets, contributed a lot for the spread of Telugu culture and heritage.
He mentioned that the sacrifice of Potti Sriramulu for the separate statehood was the reason for formation of Telugu state in 1953. On the occasion, the minister paid rich tributes to stalwarts who fought for the development of state. To revive the culture and traditions of the state, Bose said the present State government has decided to celebrate State Formation Day celebrations on November 1.
He announced the government has extended the YSR Arogya Sree scheme to Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai to provide super specialty services to patients. The minister said that necessary steps were taken to check corruption and irregularities in sand supply and the supply of sand would be streamlined after receding of floodwater in the rivers.
Speaking on provision of house sites for poor, he said that efforts have been made for distribution of 3 lakh house sites in the district. Under the YSR Kanti Velugu, he said the children identified with eye defects in preliminary screening, will be provided medical care and spectacles.
Collector D Muralidhar Reddy called upon youth to follow the footsteps of great personalities. Kakinada and Amalapuram MPs Vanga Geetha and Ch Anuradha and Joint Collector G Lakshmisha participated in the programme.
