Chittoor: The TDP district leaders led by MLC B N Rajasimhulu staged a protest in front of the closed Anna Canteen building here on Friday, demanding that the State government should run Anna Canteens for the benefit of the poor and private employees.
Speaking to the media, the MLC alleged that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is winding up welfare schemes initiated by the TDP government with political vendetta. He stated that the TDP will not object if the name of Anna Canteens changed to Rajanna Canteens.
The TDP leader mentioned that his party would continue to exert pressure on the government till Anna Canteens are opened. Former MP Durga Ramakrishna and former Chittoor MLA A S Manohar also spoke.
