Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh state has registered 79 new COVID-19 cases in the past twenty-four hours taking the tally to 3279 cases. As per the media bulletin issued by the State Command Control Room on Wednesday morning, a total of 8066 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and 35 persons were recovered and discharged on Tuesday taking the recoveries to 2244.

While the death toll spikes up to 68 with four deaths on Tuesday, of the recent deaths, two reported from Chittoor and one each in Krishna and Kurnool. Meanwhile, The tally of foreign returnees stood at 119 with 118 active cases who are under treatment while migrant returnees cases' increased to 573 and 362 of them have recovered.

Andhra Pradesh continues to lead the table among the states in the conduct of tests per million. On average, 6,043 tests per million are being conducted in the country, while it is only 2,254 tests per million at the national level.

The AP government has set another record in the conduction of coronavirus tests. It ranks first in the country with over 12,000 corona tests every day. Apart from conducting tests, the districts are also providing better health facilities to the people, The state nodal Officer said that as many as 3,95,681 tests have been conducted AP and 3,91,890 have been diagnosed as corona negative.
