Electoral verification awareness rally flagged off: Collector
East Godavari District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy flagged off an awareness rally on electoral verification at Bhanugudi center here on Sunday.
Kakinada: East Godavari District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy flagged off an awareness rally on electoral verification at Bhanugudi center here on Sunday. He said that awareness rallies were being organized at various places across the district to create awareness on this activity as per the directive of Election Commission of India.
People should exercise their franchise to make the functioning of democracy successful in India, he added. He said that all those who complete the age of 18 years should get themselves enrolled in the voters' list.
The District Collector said that apart from verification of details of electoral card, new enrollment, change of address, deletion of expired voters from lists and enrolment of eligible voters will also be taken up under this programme.
For this, the voters can approach helpline 1071, call centre and allied help lines, the Collector said. He said that this programme will be continued for 45 days till October 15. Joint Collector Dr G Lakshmisha, DRO Ch Sattibabu, RDO Chinni Krishna participated.
