Kadapa: As the bypoll to Badvel Assembly constituency is fast approaching, the election officers examined the functioning of EVMs and VVPATs in the presence of the contesting candidates representing different political parties and agents at Balayogi Government Gurukula Patasala in Badvel town on Sunday.

Election Observer (general) Bhisma Kumar who participated in the programme expressed satisfaction over the performance of EVMs and VVPATs. He directed the officials to take measures for the smooth conduct of the by-election.

He instructed them that if they encounter any problem with EVMs and VVPATs, they should immediately bring it to the issue to the notice of higher officials to avoid delay in polling procudure. Election Returning Officer Ketan Garg said that commissioning of EVMs and VVPATs wase completed without any mistakes. He said that the EVMs and VVPATs would be shifted to strong room after conducting of mock polling in the presence of candidates and agents.

Joint Collector M Goutami, ARO Srinivasulu Reddy, tahsildars Subrahmanyam Reddy, Sivarami Reddy, Vijaya Kumar, Jeevan Chandrasekhar, Madhu Sudhan Reddy and others were present.
