Andhra Pradesh Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has made it clear that people need not worry about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Sajjala announced that the government is likely to pass a resolution in the Assembly against the CAA if necessary. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy spoke to the media under the Andhra Pradesh Working Journalist Federation (APWJF) on Wednesday.

Sajjala said that when the YSRCP backed the CAA in Parliament, there were no NRCs and NPRs. He explained that the YSRCP supported the CAA bill in the matter of national security, intrusion and prevention of illegal immigration.

He said the government was fully aware of the concerns of Muslim minorities. "It is state's prerogative to enforce the laws in the state, " Sajjala said

Sajjala disclosed that there was no need for the people to be concerned about the CAA, NRC or NPR, and that if necessary, a resolution would be passed in the Assembly against the CAA.
