Guntur: The police department is making elaborate security arrangements for Maha Sivaratri (Kotappakonda Tiranalu) beginning from February 19 to 21. About ten lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple for Kotappakonda festivities.

The department will deploy 2,500 police force including APSP to provide security for the devotees visiting the temple. Police officials divided entire area into 24 sectors and for each sector, a DSP rank officer will be appointed as in-charge. They will set up nine check posts and a command control room at Kotappakonda. Closed circuit cameras will be installed to monitor the law and order situation from the command control room set up on hill shrine. The department will press drone cameras into service to monitor the situation and traffic. The police department has already stepped up vigilance on the movements of the anti-social elements at the Kotappakonda and surrounding areas as a precautionary measure. They will set up nine police out-posts. Striking force will be ready at Kotappakonda hill to jump into action.

The Fire department will keep fire engines to press into service, in case of need. The police officials have already identified parking places. Bluecolts teams will continuously conduct patrolling to check untoward incidents. VIPs having car passes will be allowed to park the vehicles at parking place. Special buses will be arranged to go to hillock of the temple for VVIPs. Rural SP Ch Vijaya Rao along with other police officials visited Kotappakonda and reviewed the arrangements for festivities. They gave suggestions and advises to the police.

Narasaraopet MLA Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy was also present.
