The Covid19 positive cases have been increasing in Andhra Pradesh at an alarming rate.

Amaravati: The Covid19 positive cases have been increasing in Andhra Pradesh at an alarming rate. On Sunday alone 813 people tested positive for the virus, taking total to 13,098 so far. Out of them, at least 7021 active cases, 5908 cured and remaining 169 died.

As the positive cases are crossing 800 everyday and likely to increase further, the State government initiated a self home quarantine system, since the hospitals and quarantine centres would not sufficient enough to meet the growing demand. At the same time, the government opined that the demand for home quarantine also increased across the state from the patients.

Reacting on the home isolation, Dr C Prabhakara Reddy, Prof & HOD CTVS, Special Officer, Covid Command Centre Vijayawada informed that, Government allotted 1,000 exclusive beds at the Covid Care Centers (CCC) in each district. These beds may be in 2-3 centers. Among them, one Center designated as Novel CCC (Triage Center).

In this Novel CCC all diagnostic facilities will be available like ECG, XRAY, Lab Tests etc., if any person will be positive, will be shifted to Novel CCC and tested. Based on the mild symptoms or asymptomatic, the patient will be shifted to CCC. If anybody wants home isolation, aged between 10 to 60 years, then the In-charge of that CCC himself will give permission for that. However moderate, severe symptoms and having Co-morbidities like diabetes, HT, COPD will be shifted to Covid hospitals (DCC or SCC), Prabhakara Reddy explained.

Home isolated patients will monitor themselves for pulse, BP, SpO2, blood sugar. Training will be given to the patient by the concerned Center and ANM of that area and she will monitor the patient's vitals by MSS Application.

Tele consultation centers established in each district to monitor home isolated patients. They will take care of the patients of home isolation and give guidance for nutrition, psychological support too.

If any home isolation patient develops symptoms, he will be shifted to Covid hospitals for further better treatment. ANM & Tele consultation teams will inform to Rapid Response Teams they will shift the patients.

After completing 28 days of home isolation, the patient will be tested for Covid. The respective ANM facilitate for this. After testing negative, the patient's home isolation will be declared as completed and will be freed from isolation.

He suggested people to use this facility of home isolation and stay safe at home even though someone became Covid positive.
