Anantapur: District Collector S Sathyanarayana has asked all departmental heads of Industries, Agriculture, Horticulture and Sericulture to popularise the National Backward Classes Finance Development Corporation (NBCFDC) self-employment scheme in all Assembly constituencies and identify beneficiaries by the end of July 31.
Addressing a meeting of departmental heads here on Friday, the Collector stated that the maximum loan amount given under the scheme is Rs 15 lakh for a small-scale venture. Applications should be sent online by July 31.
He asked Agriculture department to explore possibilities for finding candidates who can set up units for owning agriculture implements and rent them out to farmers. He advised Horticulture department to explore possibilities for setting up tomato processing units or fruit processing units in the district.
Besides sheep and goat rearing and poultry units can also be set up, the Collector said. Industries General Manager James Sunder Raju, DRO Subbaraju and Horticulture Deputy Director Subbarayudu were among those present.
