Rajamahendravaram: Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu underlined the need for shopping malls in various fields in the state which helps to generate employment.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa, Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai, MLC Adireddy Appa Rao participated in the inaugural function of Lalithaa Jewellery Mart in here on Sunday.

Later, speaking to the reporters at the showroom, he said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is encouraging shopping malls in various fields in the state and the government is giving permission at one stroke. Job opportunities are also increasing with the emergence of these malls, he said.

Nimmkayala Chinna Rajappa said Lalithaa Jewellery chairman Dr Kiran Kumar is running many showrooms in South India and imbibed confidence among the customers and started the showroom in the city also.

Lalithaa Jewellery chairman Dr M Kiran Kumar said it is the 21st showroom and plans are afoot to increase it to 40 showrooms shortly. At present, 28,000 employees are working including 250 employees in the new showroom. The annual business turnover may be Rs 10,000 crore.

The showroom is providing jewellery at low prices when compared to the other malls and also by not compromising on quality and assured to supply pure quality ornaments.
