Nandyal: The Election Commission of India has provided a final opportunity for eligible citizens whose names were omitted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 to enroll in the electoral rolls, Nandyal District Collector G Rajakumari announced on Saturday.
Addressing officials in a statement, Collector Rajakumari stated that the initiative aims to ensure universal franchise across the district.
She directed authorities to display the lists of voters categorized under Absent, Shifted, Dead, and Duplicate (ASDD) at local polling stations, gram panchayat offices, and municipal buildings. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been instructed to conduct door-to-door verification in coordination with political party Booth Level Agents (BLAs).
BLOs will reach out to affected voters via direct contact, WhatsApp, email, and SMS to distribute required enumeration forms.
Citizens residing at their registered addresses must submit Annexure-8 declarations, while those shifted within Andhra Pradesh should submit Annexure-C with updated address details to their respective electoral registration officers. For homeless citizens, BLO field verification reports will be accepted as residence proof.
The Collector instructed officials to scrutinize applications thoroughly to eliminate duplicate entries while ensuring special enrollment focus on homeless populations, vulnerable communities, and hard-to-reach voters.
The final electoral rolls will be published on November 30, 2026. Collector Rajakumari urged citizens and youth attaining 18 years of age to utilize the continuous updation facility through the official ECI portal or ECINET app.
