TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh attended the funeral of slain TDP spokesperson Nandam Subbaiah in Proddutur, of Kadapa district. Lokesh who went to Proddutur on Wednesday had stayed there till the funeral is over. TDP leaders and activists came in large numbers to pay their respects to Subbaiah's body. Police were heavily deployed in Proddutur as there was a funeral of Subbaiah and precautions were taken to prevent any untoward incidents.

Nara Lokesh said that the party will be supportive to Subbaiah's family. "We are providing Rs. 20 lakh on behalf of the party," he said. Local leaders also announced that they would help the family and assured that they will fight till justice is done and accused be arrested. They have demanded the police that a case be registered against the accused in the Subbaiah murder case within 15 days. Lokesh warned that if the case is not registered, there will be a movement across Rayalaseema.

Nandam Subbaiah was brutally murdered two days ago in Proddutur. Subbaiah's wife Aparajitha alleged that his brother-in-law was along with a local MLA was behind the murder. Nara Lokesh also went to Proddatur on Wednesday and visited the victim's family. In this case, he demanded the inclusion of his brother-in-law and the name of the Municipal Commissioner along with Proddutur MLA. With this, the DSP entered the field and recorded the statement of Subbaiah's wife and promised to add the three names in the FIR.
