Eluru: District Collector Praveen Kumar has said the government officials and employees engaged in election duty should avail their vote using postal ballot. The administration has made all arrangements to ensure all staff on duty exercise their franchise without fail.

He reviewed election arrangements with higher officials, nodal officers and collectorate superintendents here on Saturday night. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that postal ballots would be supplied to the officials, police staff and other election staff deployed at different places on election duty. He asked the officials to make sure that all the employees should exercise their franchise.

The Collector instructed the officials to take up post-nomination election arrangements on a war-footing to ensure free and fair poll. He asked the officials to get ready with relevant information as election observers would be visiting the district within next few days. Among the subjects the Collector reviewed include postal ballot printing, implementation of code of conduct, transport arrangements for shifting staff and election equipment, training of micro observers, functioning of 1950 toll-free number, voter helpline and cVIGIL.

The Collector said the officials that about 350 calls are being received through 1950 toll-free number. As many as 113 complaints were received through cVIGIL so far.
