Prakasam fencers selected for the national youth championship in Ongole
The Prakasam District Fencing Association announced that seven players from the Prakasam District have selected for the sixth National Level Youth (Under-23) Championship, scheduled in this month.
Ongole: The Prakasam District Fencing Association announced that seven players from the Prakasam District have selected for the sixth National Level Youth (Under-23) Championship, scheduled in this month.
The Andhra Pradesh Fencing Association president and secretary of the Prakasam district Fencing Association, V Nageswara Rao said that the players are selected for the national championship based on their performance in the individual categories in the 5th Under-23 state-level championship, held in PACE Engineering College in Ongole, last year.
He said that B Bharat, T Bala Sai Vineet, and M Himateja are selected in foil category, KV Murali Krishna, T Yashwanth and PVV Kaushik Yadav in Sabre category and K Sailaja in the epee category.
He added that these players will participate in the sixth National Level Youth (Under 23) Fencing Championship from October 6 to 8 in Tirunelveli of Tamil Nadu state. The Prakasam district fencing association president Balisetty Nageswara Rao congratulated the players and coaches R Naga Chiranjeevi, and R Vijayalakshmi and appreciated the players for selecting for the national championship.
