Pulse polio drive held in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation had organised pulse polio programme at Chief Minister Health camp at Giripuram circle here on Sunday.

District Collector M D Imtiaz and municipal commissioner M Rama Rao participated in the programme by administrating the pulse polio drops to the children.

On this occasion, the district collector said that it is parents to take the responsibility to administer the pulse polio drops for the children under the age of five.

The municipal commissioner said that the corporation had done all the arrangements by setting the 1795 staff under the monitoring of 39 officers for administering polio drops for 1,36,906 children in the city.

We had arranged 382 polio camps in the city along with railway station, Bus stand, Durga temple and in all the busy places in the city he added.

He announced that they were going to conduct the door-to-door polio drops service to administer polio drops for the children who were missed to administer the polio drops.

4 Chief medical officer Dr K Arjun Rao, MD and HoD Dr I Ramesh, supporting medical officer Dr Iqbal, Dr Ramakoteswara Rao, and others were present.
