Sugarcane farmers held a protest at the Sugarcane Commissioner office in Tadepalli in Amaravati. Sugarcane farmers demanded immediate payment of their dues which had sold their sugarcane crop two years back. They demanded the government to pay 15 per cent interest on late payments.

Farmers are asking the board management to pay 4000 per ton of Sugarcane for the 2019-20 season. The farmers requested to revise the advisory price and give the additional Rs. 500 per ton

The farmers alleged that the boards are not paying them the dues despite taking the Sugarcane. They also said that the government is not following the Sugarcane act 1964, which emphasises on the payment of dues of Sugarcane be done in stipulated 15 days.
