There has been difference of 2,000 to 3,000 votes between male and female voters polled in the elections in almost all Assembly constituencies and L S seats. There was 11,17,547 women voters against 10, 87,117 men voters among 22,04,964 total population in the district.

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu mainly focused on welfare schemes like Pasupu Kunkuma, hiking of pensions, allocation of loans to the SHG's during election.

The poll percentage which witnessed 68.65 around 4.45 PM, picked up to 77.23 following a call given by Chandrababu Naidu by pointing out poor performance of EVMs as the women used their franchise by patiently waiting for their turn in line up to midnight in Jammalamadugu, Mydukuru and Rajampet constituencies.
