Use eco-friendly Ganesh idols, says Vijayasai Reddy
YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy called upon the people to use clay Ganesh idols for the Vinayaka Chavati celebrations to protect the environment from ecological disasters.
Vijayawada: YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy called upon the people to use clay Ganesh idols for the Vinayaka Chavati celebrations to protect the environment from ecological disasters. He appreciated the NGO for spreading the message of using clay Ganesha idols and popularizing them.
Vijayai Reddy, on Sunday, visited the clay idols sales stall for the festival organised by Vijayawada Roundtable 68, Vijayawada Ladies Circle 52. Speaking on the occasion, Reddy appreciated the members of ladies circle and said everyone should feel the responsibility and celebrate Vinayaka Chavati festival with clay idols so that that the lakes and rivers would not get polluted by immersing them. People should feel it as a an important social responsibility.
Vijayawada Roundtable 68 chairman V Raghava, Vijayawada Ladies Circle 52 chairperson V Vimaladevi said every year they distribute clay Ganesh idols to create awareness on protecting the environment with a slogan 'Go Green Ganesh' with a 100 percent pollution-free Ganesh idols.
They said Vinayaka Chavati was an environmental festival and everyone should protect the environment by keeping away idols made of Plaster of Paris and harmful colors. They said that the money received through the sales of clay Ganesh idols would be spent for the infrastructural development of the government schools as many schools were in bad shape.
