Verifying mobile call data of Bonda Uma, Venkanna: DGP Gautam Sawang
DGP D Gautam Sawang has said the police are verifying the call data of former MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and MLC Buddha Venkanna and are investigating the case where the two leaders were attacked by some miscreants in Macherla recently.
Vijayawada: DGP D Gautam Sawang has said the police are verifying the call data of former MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and MLC Buddha Venkanna and are investigating the case where the two leaders were attacked by some miscreants in Macherla recently.
Speaking to the media at the police headquarters in Mangalagiri, he said the police were investigating the case why the two leaders went to Macherla and to whom they made calls.
He said Bonda Uma had claimed that he informed the Macherla police before going from Vijayawada to Macherla. Sawang said the former MLA failed to reveal whom he called and when he called the police.
He said, "We are verifying the call data of Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and Buddha Venkanna and investigation is on', he added.
Asked about the progress of case, he said it is underway and it will take some more time to get the facts.
Referring to social media, DGP said the police would take appropriate action against the culprits who indulge in objectionable postings in social media.
He said, 'We will register cases and take serious action for spreading misinformation and for irresponsible postings."
