Eluru Range DIG, AS Khan made a surprise visit to R-pet police station Machilipantam on Tuesday.
Vijayawada: Eluru Range DIG, AS Khan made a surprise visit to R-pet police station Machilipantam on Tuesday. The visit was made to monitor the zero FIR which was implemented after Disha incident in Telangana state recently.
Khan enquired with DSP Mahaboob Basha on attacks on women at various police stations in the district. He asked the DSP as to how the cases were being filed, how the investigation is being done, filing charge sheet and others.
How various records are being maintained at the police stations was checked and then, he reviewed the performance of the staff. The DIG further asked how the cases are being filed in various crimes under Machilipatnam sub-division. R-pet Circle Inspector Venkateswara Rao, Sub-Inspector Durga Prasad, Sub-Inspector Phani Kumar, staff and others were present.
