Nearly two lakh bangles used for the decoration
Vijayawada: Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy temple (Durga temple) Antaralayamwas decorated with bangles on Monday to mark the beginning of the Kartika Masam.
The temple premises were decorated with nearly two lakh bangles and scores of devotees participated in the decoration works. Due to Covid guidelines, the number bangles reduced this year. Usually, the temple premises decorated with more than five lakh bangles.
It is a tradition that the goddess is decorated with colourful bangles every year during the Kartika Masam. On the other hand, several hundred women devotees visited the Durga temple and offered special puja on the first day of auspicious Kartika Masam. Some devotees presented sarees and bangles to the Goddess Kanaka Durga on the auspicious occasion.
Temple executive officer M V Suresh Babu and other officials supervised the arrangements.
