Srikakulam: Pressure is mounting on police from various people's organizations, political parties and local people on unnatural death of a minor girl at Palasa ten days ago. The minor girl is belonging to Dharmapuram village in Vajrapukottur Mandal and her body was found on railway track near Palasa. The girl was studying intermediate and police arrested one of her classmate, who is also a minor boy by registering a case against him. But doubts are rising over the death and representatives of various peoples' organisations and political parties are demanding impartial investigation in the case. They claimed that the minor boy was made as to the scapegoat in this incident.

Viswanadham, BJP leaders Hanumanthu Yendu Dora, Korrayi Balakrishna, noted doctor Duvvada Jiviteswara Rao met Superintendent of Police R N Ammi Reddy at district police office and submitted a memorandum in this connection. Speaking to media, they said that the SP assured to conduct fair investigation on death of minor girl. The SP said that anyone can approach the police and provide evidence regarding the death. He also assured them to collect evidence in all angles and then only file charge sheet. Peoples' organisations representatives, sympathisers of Left wing organisations conducted a meeting at Bathupuram village, which is located adjacent to Dharmapuram, the native village of deceased minor girl.

At the meeting, the peoples' organisations representatives K Neelakantam, J Sankar, J Kodanda Rao, D Sriramulu, M Gangayya, P Purusottam, T Saraswathi and P Laxman Rao spoke over the controversial statements made by the police and local leaders on death of the minor girl initially. They also wondered over in ordinate delay in cracking the 'unnatural' death case even after the completion of ten days. They alleged that police tried to project it as suicide and booked the minor boy in the case. On the other hand, Human Rights Forum State vice-president K V Jagannadha Rao demanded the government to handover the case to Special Investigation Team (SIT) to do justice.
