Visakhapatnam: A large number of migrant workers arrived at Visakhapatnam railway station on Monday morning on knowing that a special train was leaving to Jharkhand from Visakhapatnam railway station. The police, however, did not allow the workers to go ahead with their plans. Only those, who got permission from district authority, were allowed to leave for their native places. In fact, they were taken to the railway station by special buses.

Meanwhile, those who did not have permission, were sent back. The migrant workers asked the officials how long they would have to stay here without work and food. Many of them were seen arguing with the police. However, the police and Revenue officials clearly mentioned that those with permission would only be allowed to travel. Migrant workers who want to reach their hometowns must enrol their names at the Collectorate.

On Saturday, a train departed from Visakhapatnam to Motihari railway station in Bihar. Again, on Monday, another train departed from Visakhapatnam to Daltonganj railway station in Jharkhand. Meanwhile, the migrant workers came to the railway station to board the train sans passes.
