Workshop on Bird Feeder and Nest Box making held

A workshop on 'Bird Feeder and Nest box making' was held here on Sunday by MEEConS at Sivaji Park in the city. A total of 64 participants including 14 children took part in the annual workshop. Ravi Kanth and volunteers of MEEConS demonstrated on how to make a bird feeder from a plastic bottle and a nest box from a card board box.
Later the participants were made to prepare a bird feeder and nest box by themselves. The idea behind the workshop was to recycle plastic in such way that it helps the revival of bird population. Expressing his excitement Ch Vivek, a CA final student, said, "I feel very satisfied to make a bird feeder on my own. It feels so special to be able to contribute for the restoration of the vulnerable species like sparrows which are on the verge of extinction."
Few participants said that they would share the process of making bird feeder and nest boxes with their friends and relatives. Y Priya, a graduate student, said "I attended the workshop like this for the first time. I understood that learning through hands-on experience instead of watching on YouTube is much better." Free clay bowls and feed were distributed to all the participants after the conclusion of workshop.
