‘Garividi Lakshmi’ pre-release event held; set for Oct 17 release
‘Garividi Lakshmi,’ the upcoming biopic of the legendary folk singer Garividi Lakshmi of Andhra Pradesh, is all set to have its theatrical release on October 17. The film, produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Kriti Prasad under their People Media Factory banner, is directed by Gauri Naidu Jammu, while Anandi essays the lead role. The makers organized a pre-release event recently, where Adivi Sesh and the directors Bobby Kolli, Harish Shankar and Maruthi, along with the cast and crew, were present. The promotional content, which was released earlier, has already gathered attention from the audiences.
Adivi Sesh praised the film’s authenticity and Anandi’s performance after watching the trailer. He mentioned that the folk songs and culture in the film reminded him of his days in Visakhapatnam and that he was confident the movie would resonate well with the audiences.
Maruthi, on the other hand, spoke about how he introduced Anandi as a heroine and lauded her transformation for the role. Harish Shankar also appreciated the team for introducing the culture, language and folk music of the people of North Andhra to the masses. Kriti Prasad described Garividi Lakshmi as a story rooted in Indian culture, whereas TG Vishwa Prasad disclosed that Kriti picked this project as one of the stories she wanted to narrate.
Anandi mentioned that she worked for nearly two years on the film and considered the role a special opportunity. Charan Arjun, the music director, has composed around 20 songs and the background score.
