Going with VV Vinayak’s personal details, he was born as Gandrothu Veera Venkata Vinayaka Rao on 9 October 1974 in Chagallu, Andhra Pradesh. Well, VV Vinayak’s family owned a cinema hall in his town and thus, he grew up watching movies and completed his intermediate education at Dommeru.
After completing his education, he forayed into the film industry and began his career as an assistant director to legendary filmmaker EVV Satyanarayana for the movie Abbayigaru (1993). Later he worked with director Sagar for Amma Donga movie. He also worked with him for six movies and then later he assisted S V Krishna Reddy for Sakutumba Saparivara Sametam (2000) and Kranthi Kumar for Paadutha Theeyaga (1998) and 9 Nelalu (2000) movies.
He made his debut as a director with Junior NTR’s Aadi and bagged the biggest blockbuster with his first film itself. Later, he scored blockbusters with Chennakesava Reddy, Dil, Tagore, Samba, Bunny, Lakshmi, Adhurs, Badrinath, Naayak and Khaidi No. 150. But his Hindi debut movie Chatrapathi didn’t work at the ticket windows.
He also bagged Nandi Award for Best First Film of a Director - Aadi (2002) and worked with most of the ace actors of Tollywood. All his fans are eagerly awaiting for his next film’s announcement.
