Hyderabad medical student Lasyanjali Sambaraju crowned Miss Earth Fire India 2026
Lasyanjali Sambaraju, a final-year MBBS student at Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, has won the crown of Miss Earth Fire India 2026 and the People’s Choice Award at the national pageant held in Jaipur, Rajasthan, from 15th to 19th September.
The pageant was organised by the Miss Divine Beauty organisation, which holds the franchise rights for Miss Earth India, under National Director Deepak Agarwal. Selection began with online auditions and personal interviews open to contestants from across the country. After evaluation by industry professionals, 25 finalists were chosen for the national competition in Jaipur.
The five-day competition featured rounds in ethnic wear, designer wear, cocktail wear and evening gowns, along with talent presentations, pageant walks and intelligence-based assessments. Lasyanjali cleared each stage and was crowned at the grand finale.
Central to her campaign was her social initiative, Project Prakruthi, which brings together her medical background and her commitment to environmental sustainability.
Project Prakruthi is a sustainable community initiative that promotes kitchen gardening, seed kits, composting and organic practices, with the aim of helping families in underserved communities gain better access to nutritious food. As part of it, Lasyanjali has led community outreach and awareness activities and distributed seed kits. Public support for the project contributed to her winning the People’s Choice Award.
Beyond medicine and pageantry, Lasyanjali is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. She has studied the art for more than 14 years and given over 160 performances on national platforms, and her work has been appreciated by former Vice President of India Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu Garu. She has been honoured as an Outstanding Performer, has won several competitions at the all-India level, and has completed her certificate course in Bharatanatyam with distinction from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.
Her win is a matter of immense pride not only for her family and friends but for the entire state of Telangana, which she now represents on a national platform for a larger cause: environmental sustainability and better nutrition for vulnerable communities.
With the national crown and the People’s Choice Award, the Hyderabad-based medical student adds another milestone to a journey that spans medicine, classical dance, pageantry and community work. She continues her medical studies alongside her interests in performance, modelling, and social and environmental causes.
